Second 18 at Dismal River Club Mullen, Nebraska

Our newest American project is the second 18 holes for Dismal River Club in the sand hills region of Nebraska.  Tom and Eric Iverson completed the routing back in March and Brian Slawnik headed out in June to direct the mowing of the native and pasture grasses through the green.  All three returned in August to shape and grass six green-sites and eighteen bunkers. In doing so, we hope to have given ourselves enough of a head start to finish the project next summer.

Our routing straddles the entrance road to the club with the back ten holes playing down to the Dismal River across which looms a 200 ft bluff called Horseshoe Hill.  It is a challenging neighborhoood for a designer, with Sand Hills Golf Club just eight miles downstream, but we are confident that the property gives us a chance to build something a bit different from its neighbors in the region.
